Korean media: Huawei requires Samsung and SK Hynix to supply memory chips steadily

IT House News on May 25 According to Bloomberg News quoted "Korea Economic News", Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. has asked Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix to maintain a stable supply of memory chips.

According to sourcesHuawei has summoned senior officials of two South Korean chip makers' subsidiaries in China and asked the latter to stably supply memory chips. Huawei is one of the five largest customers of Samsung and SK Hynix. It spends about 10 trillion won (US $ 8.1 billion) annually to purchase DRAM and NAND flash memory chips from Korean companies.

The report stated thatAlthough memory chip manufacturers are not restricted by the US government, Huawei is concerned that the Trump administration may expand its restrictions in the future.
