According to Patently Apple, the US Patent and Trademark Office recently announced an authorized patent from Apple. Judging from the patent picture, the future Apple MacBook will no longer use a physical touchpad, and then the entire area under the notebook's keyboard can be used as a touchpad.

Apple's patent map also gives a partial bottom view, which includes a dynamic input layer, a haptic feedback module, a touch detection module, and a touch frequency detection module.
